A natural cross between Balsam Fir and Fraser Fir. The tree closely resembles the Fraser Fir in color, needle retention, and dense symmetrical shape. Has late flushing trait, making it resistant to frost damage. Canaan Fir has less winter damage and can grow on wetter sites than Fraser Fir.
